Brian Turner 

Captain of the Ship, Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME), certified CASA Approved Welder. 

Brian began his aviation career at the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation working on Mirage Jets and similar. At this time at home, Brian started to build his first aircraft, the timber and fabric Corby Starlet. In 1984, Brian moved to Latrobe Valley working at Gipplsand Aeronautical as a LAME. To pursue his passion of vintage aircraft restoration, in 1990 Brian established LVAW. Brian has re-built, refurbished and maintained many the vintage Percival Proctor, Tiger Moths, Auster, etc as well as maintained more modern aircraft such the Piper Pawnee, Tripacer, Bucker Bestmann and Agricultural crop spraying aircraft.

Damian Turner

Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME)

Damian began aircraft maintenance as a 12 year old helping his dad stitch fabric for Brian’s timber framed Corby Starlet. During Damian’s LAME apprenticeship, he worked on many vintage and veteran aircraft types such as the Avro Cadet, Tiger Moth, Boeing Stearman, Austers,  Fairchild 24, Wingeel, Chipmunks and the Stamp SV4. Today, Damian works with Brian in the LVAW business so that he can continue his love for aircraft restoration, airframe refurbishment and vintage aircraft maintenance.

Kath Turner

Office Manager

Kath is highly experienced in handling a wide range of administrative duties and wearing multiple hats. She is an energetic person organising and coordinating all the office administration and procedures. Kath makes sure LVAW business is effective and efficient by developing the office communication protocols, streamlining administrative procedures, inventory control, office staff supervision, and task delegation.

 

Liam

Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice 

Growing up in an aviation family, Liam was always eager to work in the aviation industry. Beginning his apprenticeship in 2021, Liam is involved in all aspects of the maintenance and rebuilding of vintage aircraft.
